# Setup Minikube on AWS EC2 Instance

* Connect to your AWS EC2 instance using SSH.
    
* Update the instance packages.
    
* ```bash
    sudo apt update
    ```
    
* Install Docker
    
* ```bash
    sudo apt -y install docker.io
    ```
    
* Install Minikube and conntrack
    
* ```bash
    curl -LO https://storage.googleapis.com/kubernetes-release/release/$(curl -s https://storage.googleapis.com/kubernetes-release/release/stable.txt)/bin/linux/amd64/kubectl && chmod +x ./kubectl && sudo mv ./kubectl /usr/local/bin/kubectl
    curl -Lo minikube https://storage.googleapis.com/minikube/releases/latest/minikube-linux-amd64 && chmod +x minikube && sudo mv minikube /usr/local/bin/
    apt install conntrack
    ```
    
* add the current user to the `docker` group and start a new shell with the updated group membership.
    
* ```bash
    sudo usermod -aG docker $USER && newgrp docker 
    ```
    
* Start Minikube
    
* ```bash
    minikube start --driver=docker
    ```
